View: Portsmouth given further financial boost with fresh £9m investment from Eisners

Portsmouth have been boosted by a further investment of £9million from the Tornante Company, as confirmed by Kieran Maguire.

Football finance expert Maguire posted on X [1 July] to reveal the updated information from Companies House, that Tornante, the firm of the Eisners who own the club, have issued Pompey with another multi-million-pound injection of funds.

This comes after north of £15m has been invested into refurbishment works at Fratton Park, as the club remain proactive and progressive now that Championship football beckons once again.

Portsmouth supplied with key funding

Despite patience with certain quarters of fans wearing thinner due to the lack of spending by Portsmouth at this early stage of the summer transfer market, the Eisners’ investment has won the hearts and time of supporters.

Key improvement works at Fratton Park will maintain the tradition of the stadium whilst also making it fit for purpose in the Championship for years to come.

CEO Andy Cullen has already explained the marginal rise in season ticket costs for 2024-25, though this appears to have gone down very well with the fanbase regardless with season tickets sold out for the new campaign.

This has helped bring welcome revenue back into the boardroom, alongside the bolstered television coverage the club will receive via Sky Sports’ mammoth deal with the EFL.

An extra £9m has been invested in Portsmouth by the club’s ownership

The maintenance work at Fratton remains underway throughout pre-season, with Pompey not playing any home friendlies this summer.

Portsmouth will next take to their home turf against Millwall on 13 August in the first round of the Carabao Cup, following a granted request to play the first Championship fixture of the season away, which will be at Leeds United three days earlier.

All-in-all, this is yet more great news for the club in what is a hugely exciting period.
