Eric Eisner has lauded the work that has been carried out throughout the summer at Fratton Park as Portsmouth prepare for life back in the Championship.

Posting on X [30 July], the director and son of owner Michael Eisner claimed Pompey are "really starting to look like a professional club" following the refurbishment works.

Over £15m has been invested in supplementing the development of Fratton Park in time for the new season, resulting in the club's entire pre-season schedule being based away from PO4.

Eisner said: "Not sure if anybody watched Pompey Plus, but [I've] got to say I was very impressed with all the work that the team put in to make it happen. Very impressive.

"The media deck at Fratton Park looks excellent.

Portsmouth keeping pace with Championship rivals

Over the last 12 years in League One and Two, Portsmouth have been able to get away without too many significant developments to their home.

However, the Championship is a different beast both on and off the field, the latter meaning Pompey have had to keep pace with numerous huge clubs in the second tier.

With the demand rocketing for season tickets for the Blues, 15,000 have been sold with most games expected to host sell-out home crowds in 2024-25, despite expected marginal price rises.

The media deck in question from Eisner is an important improvement on the facilities in recent years, with the new TV gantry arriving just in time for the new, lucrative deal between Sky and the EFL with live matches until January already announced.

Blues fans are enjoying every minute of the progress which seemed a mirage just a matter of years ago.
