Portsmouth fans have noticed a potential breakthrough on a return for Abu Kamara after a social media message from Christian Saydee.

The attacker dropped a two-word comment on Saturday 10 August on Kamara's goodbye post on Instagram from when he finished his successful loan at Fratton Park back in April.

Saydee produced an excellent contribution from the bench for Pompey at Leeds, winning the late penalty converted by Callum Lang which was so nearly enough to snatch all three points in the 3-3 draw.

The England youth ace came up trumps with 20 league goal contributions last year in his first consistent season in senior football, as Portsmouth soared to the League One title.

On Kamara's 14-week-old farewell post, Saydee commented at around 6:30 pm on Saturday: "Hurry up..."

Kamara then acknowledged and liked the message, furthering the excitement - Pompey fans, you may need to watch this space.

Portsmouth fans excited as Saydee reaches out to Kamara

Portsmouth supporters have of course been quick to set the rumour mill whirring once again, having previously been resigned to missing out on a deal for Kamara.

With Pompey joining the 21-year-old's parent club Norwich City as a Championship rival, it appeared unlikely the Canaries would sanction another loan and a purchase could be out of the club's price range.

It's a telling statement that despite the fact Saydee and Kamara remain close friends from their time as teammates last term, the former would encourage the latter to potentially indirectly knock him down in the pecking order, with John Mousinho probably blessed more with wingers than in any other position.

Pompey are struggling with injury concerns already, but the wide areas seem fairly stacked in terms of how Mousinho operates his system.

Kamara would however undoubtedly improve the team, and stranger things have happened both in and out of Portsmouth regarding transfer deals.
