Portsmouth supporters are Premier League level and it is surprising the Blues have not yet won at Fratton Park this season, according to Clinton Morrison.

Pompey remain rooted to the bottom of the Championship having lost 2-1 at Fratton Park to Sheffield Wednesday on Friday [25 October].

The Blues' only win since promotion came on 19 October away at Queens Park Rangers.

Morrison, speaking live on Sky Sports as shared on X [25 October] before kick-off, said: "With fanbases, Portsmouth should be in the Premier League.

"One of the best sets of fans and hardest places to go during my career. They're within touching distance when you go to take a throw-in. They're all over you.

"I'm surprised they've not had a win at Fratton Park this season."

Portsmouth fans suffer extended run without home win

Portsmouth had the chance to end October on a high note, gain a brief advantage offered to them by playing on first and finally give their home support a victory, but they couldn't manage it.

Leading at half-time through Connor Ogilvie's close-range finish with things looking up, the Blues could not cope with Wednesday's raised performance after the break and admittedly could have little shame in being beaten by Michael Smith's outrageous winner.

Barring a total hammering for QPR away at Burnley on Saturday 26 October, Pompey will end the month rooted to the basement of the table, as fears escalate over an immediate drop back into League One.

John Mousinho has been up against it with injuries and a tough early run of fixtures, but those reasons - particularly the latter - are now wearing thin with some disappointing losses during October.

Pompey are back on the road on 2 November for their next Championship test, at the MKM Stadium against Hull City.
