Portsmouth forward Harvey Blair has reminded fans of his talents with a message posted on social media.

Blair posted on X [26 October] a 65-second highlight montage from a recent behind-closed-doors bounce game for Pompey, against Fulham at the Cottagers' training facility.

The £300,000 arrival from Liverpool has not featured since a 12-minute cameo against Oxford United on 5 October, currently recovering from a bout of illness [The News, 28 October].

Blair's video caption simply read: "Bit of fun", accompanied with an "OK" emoji, attracting attention from Blues supporters.

Harvey Blair learning on the job at Portsmouth

Blair is a project player at Portsmouth, having been signed with no experience of senior league football to his name.

The Liverpool prospect, 21, arrived on a permanent deal in the Championship without ever having experienced a loan spell - something John Mousinho and Rich Hughes had to decide they were willing to recognise.

He is the same age as midfield mainstay Freddie Potts, and older than striker Mark O'Mahony among others, but has arguably less footballing pedigree and Mousinho - clearly a fan of the player - is looking to find a mixture of useful exposure and getting much-needed immediate results.

Blair played a part in seven straight league games beginning with his debut against Middlesbrough on 24 August, but he watched the defeat by Sheffield Wednesday [25 October] in the stands.

He is aiming to make a full return when Pompey visit Hull City on Saturday (2 November) next up.
