Portsmouth were shown support by Jamie O'Hara during their 3-0 victory over Bristol City on Saturday.

O'Hara, who enjoyed a loan spell at Fratton Park during the 2009-10 season, posted on X [7 December] to make clear his backing of the Blues.

Pompey secured back-to-back home wins in the Championship with the comprehensive win, which lifts the club back off the bottom of the table.

"Play up POMPEY! Go on the boys," posted O'Hara during the second half on the South Coast, followed by a clapping emoji.

Jamie O'Hara a key player at Portsmouth

O'Hara these days is a regular voice on talkSPORT, having reshaped his career as a radio presenter often alongside Jason Cundy.

But many will still remember the former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder as a key player for Portsmouth during a turbulent 2009-10 campaign, the last time the club competed in the Premier League.

Pompey were hit with a nine-point administration points deduction, becoming the first top-flight side in the Premier League era to be punished for the rule.

O'Hara was a key cog in a struggling side, making 29 appearances on loan from Spurs before joining Wolves.

O'Hara has been a divisive figure in football, but is fondly remembered down on the island city. He scooped the 2009-10 Player of the Season award at Fratton, and - most importantly - turned the screw into Southampton.

The midfield man fired the final goal of a 4-1 win at St Mary's in February 2010 en route to a second FA Cup final in three seasons, where they were narrowly beaten by double winners Chelsea at Wembley.
