Portsmouth board to receive crucial feedback with PST initiative ready

Portsmouth fans will get the chance to have their say again in this year’s initiative from the Pompey Supporters’ Trust.

The PST – who owned the club between 2013 and 2017 until the buyout from the Tornante Company overseen by Michael Eisner – are regularly in contact with the hierarchy at Fratton Park to look to maximise experiences for supporters.

Pompey fans have had plenty to cheer about within the past 12 months as the Blues finally reached the Championship having spent 12 seasons in the lower reaches of the EFL, much of that time spent recovering from financial disarray.

Portsmouth fans surveyed on all aspects of the club

Portsmouth supporters will now get the chance once again this year to voice their satisfaction, their discontent and everything in between with what’s going on at Fratton Park.

The PST survey has been designed for thousands of fans to rank what they support and what they feel needs improvement around the club, with all factors coming into play from the youth academy and women’s team, to infrastructure around the city, to public transport on matchdays.

A post on X was shared by the PST (2 March) with a direct link to encourage fans to get involved, with the Trust then feeding back to the board, particularly Andy Cullen who as CEO oversees all non-footballing and financial operations.

Portsmouth fans have on the whole appeared far more receptive to what has been going on around PO4 in recent years, with a clear plan seemingly in place to progress.

The supporters are now just awaiting the opportunity to establish themselves further in the Championship and enjoy the financial rewards in the shape of exciting new players on the pitch and an ever-improving matchday experience at home fixtures.

PST survey findings from 2024

Portsmouth tend to seldom leave too many tickets spare at Fratton Park on matchdays, regularly ‘packing the Park’ and subsequently striving for the smoothest matchday experience possible.

PST survey findings from March last year revealed that the top three ranked matters of importance to the largest portion of supporters were the men’s first team, Fratton Park, and the financial sustainability of Pompey.

The men’s team and financial sustainability were also the top two elements fans were happy with, alongside feeling safe at Fratton Park – a vital and often taken for granted aspect of an enjoyable matchday for all.

(PST supporter survey 2024)

Transport links to the stadium and the youth academy were the bottom-ranking aspects of supporter satisfaction – trains, buses and parking have often been notoriously sketchy around the local area on busy matchdays, while Portsmouth continue to operate without an Under-21 team.

Crucially, 91 per cent of fans found their matchday experience improved in general over the past two years.
