Portsmouth will be looking for consecutive wins in the Championship as they prepare to face Millwall on Saturday.

Pompey picked up another crucial victory against Blackburn Rovers last time out, as Josh Murphy’s goal was enough to secure a 1-0 win.

It continued Portsmouth’s impressive run of form at Fratton Park, with no team in the Championship having gained more points than them in home games throughout 2025.

John Mousinho’s men returned from the international break in style and showcased great defensive strength to see the game out with a one-goal lead.

The result was much needed for the Blues as they have pulled away from the relegation zone with a seven-point gap providing some breathing room for the team.

Millwall v Portsmouth preview

Portsmouth had tons of positives to take away from the win against Blackburn which they will now be aiming to implement moving forward.

Pompey have managed to showcase real quality when playing at home, and while they haven’t been as strong on the road, that won’t see a drop in confidence.

The Blues have the chance to start making progress up the table rather than worrying about the relegation zone, as a victory would put them just three points behind Millwall, who are currently 13th.

Portsmouth’s weakness has been at the back this season, as only Cardiff City have conceded more goals than them, but the performance against Blackburn proves that they are making positive strides.

Millwall v Portsmouth team news

Portsmouth have no shortage of injuries right now, with Callum Lang, Hayden Matthews, and Ibane Bowat all set to miss the remainder of this season.

There are also problems for Conor Shaughessy, Jacob Farrell, and Paddy Lane as Mousinho’s options continue to be stretched.

However, Pompey were strengthened by the return of Jordan Williams against Blackburn, and after gaining some game time off the bench, he could now be available to start.

Millwall are missing Raees Bangura-Williams after he suffered an ankle injury in training, while Liam Roberts is suspended.

Prediction: Millwall 1-2 Portsmouth

Portsmouth haven’t got the best away record this season, but coming off the back of an impressive win against Blackburn, there should be no shortage of momentum within the group.

Another victory would put Pompey in a great spot regarding the relegation zone ahead of some trickier tests, which does place an element of pressure on this match.
