‘McIntyre next to leave’ as Portsmouth defender heads for Fratton Park exit
Portsmouth are aiming to improve their squad in the summer transfer window as they prepare for another season in the Championship.
However, most of the headlines coming out of Fratton Park have been about John Mousinho trimming the dead wood from his squad.
Adrian Segecic has been drafted in on a free transfer, but Kusini Yengi and Christian Saydee are among the players to have been sold.
Now, it seems that centre-half Ryley Towler could also be out the door, amid interest from several League One clubs.

Towler looks set to leave Portsmouth for Lincoln
Lincoln City are supposedly the most interested in signing Towler, although other clubs are believed to be considering bids.
Mousinho has already hinted that some centre-backs could leave this summer, so it wouldn’t be surprising if any reasonable bid for Towler would be accepted.
The former Bristol City star only made 12 Championship appearances last season, and is regarded as being behind Regan Poole, Conor Shaughnessy and Hayden Matthews (at the very least) in the pecking order.
If Portsmouth could get a transfer fee for him now, it would be a sensible bit of business, especially considering his contract expires next summer.

McIntyre likely to be next defender to leave Fratton Park
Tom McIntyre has returned to pre-season training with Portsmouth after a loan spell with Charlton Athletic.
However, it wouldn’t shock too many people if he is sold this summer as well.
| Player | League Appearances | Minutes Played | Goals | Assists |
| Towler | 12 | 934 | 1 | 0 |
| McIntyre | 12 | 1021 | 0 | 0 |
McIntyre also managed 12 appearances in the Championship before being sent to East London, but is regarded by many as not capable enough for the second tier.
Portsmouth have Ibane Bowat back from a long-term injury, and are expected to recruit more defenders in the transfer window, so will likely still be spoilt for choice even if Towler and McIntryre were to leave.
When Rob Atkinson was loaned by the club in January, he gave the club a taste of what a towering centre-back should look like at Championship level.
It would be a smart move to cash in on Towler and McIntyre now, and put that money toward a higher calibre of centre-half ahead of the new season.
