Portsmouth have shared a scene of the first-team squad giving the verdict to their ratings on the new EA Sports FC 25 game.

The club posted on X [24 September] to share a four-minute clip of the players assessing their scores for the popular online video game, which is released to the general public on Friday (27 September), with some unhappy with the results.

Christian Saydee branded his rating of 65 a "shambles", while Conor Shaughnessy branded Paddy Lane's 67 score a "disgrace" - Lane retorted the same applied to Saydee.

Captain Marlon Pack joked he "remembered the days when I was a gold", which is an overall rating above 75 - the midfield man is now rated at 69 - as John Mousinho and Jon Harley also took an interest during the clip.

Portsmouth players blast their EA Sports FC 25 ratings

Portsmouth will feature as a Championship club for the first time in the EA computer game franchise for the first time since FIFA 12.

After FIFA and EA Sports parted ways in 2023, last year's release was the first to be renamed EA Sports FC.

Pack's rating of 69 is the joint-highest in the Pompey squad [EA Sports], alongside Shaughnessy, Colby Bishop and Regan Poole.

Youngsters Mark O'Mahony (57) and Abdoulaye Kamara (62) possess the lowest overall ratings in this season's game, although that is largely down to the duo's limited first-team experience from which the system bases statistics.

There are just 15 "gold" players in the Championship with ratings above 75 - five of these are from Leeds United, while four represent Luton Town. The Hatters' Alfie Doughty and the Whites' Max Wober, on 77, lead the way in the second tier.

Pompey's Fratton Park home was notably added into the game series from the 2016 edition onwards to honour the passing of producer and lead developer Simon Humber, who was a Blues fan.
