Portsmouth boss John Mousinho and Wolverhampton Wanderers gaffer Cesar Peixoto clashed on Tuesday night.

It was an emotionally-charged ending to the game at Molineux, as Pompey salvaged a late point.

Wolves took the lead just after the hour mark via Jordan James, with the Wales international coming off the bench at half-time.

But Mousinho's men didn't give up, and their persistence was rewarded with just four minutes to go.

Terry Devlin lashed home a superb volley after a lovely piece of control on his thigh, sending the away end absolutely barmy.

Evidently frustrated by his side dropping two points, Peixoto took it out on Mousinho.

What did Cesar Peixoto claim John Mousinho does?

As the full-time whistle blew at Molineux, it was obviously Portsmouth who were far happier with the result.

Regardless of what happens on the pitch, it's always customary for the two managers to show respect and shake hands at the end.

That didn't happen between Peixoto and Mousinho, as the Wolves boss could be seen getting rather irate with the Pompey gaffer.

Peixoto is observed pushing Mousinho and gesticulating in his face, with the Blues boss standing his ground before walking away to diffuse matters.

Writing to X after the game, Portsmouth commentator and reporter Andrew Moon detailed what Mousinho claims was said between the pair.

"I shook his hand and then as he walked off he kindly explained to me that I talk too much," Mousinho said.

"That was it. I very politely told him I disagreed and that's my job as head coach so I don't know what it was all about."

Mousinho and his Portsmouth side have clearly ramped the pressure up on Peixoto, and further chances to do that await.

Who are the under-pressure managers Portsmouth are taking on?

After being relegated from the Premier League, Wolves were naturally expected to be strong contenders for automatic promotion this season.

But after 11 games, Wanderers sit a modest seventh, and have now won just the one game from their last four.

Peixoto now goes into the coming games under big pressure aided by Portsmouth, and this could become a similar pattern over the next few matches.

Pompey welcome Millwall to Fratton Park this Saturday, and Lions boss Alex Neil won't be sitting comfortably with his team in 12th.

They've won just one of their last six league games, and after finishing third last season, expectations at The Den for promotion have never been higher.

Following this one, Portsmouth then travel to Burnley, with Nicky Hayen under huge pressure with the Clarets sitting 22nd.

Needless to say, a relegation battle was not on the agenda at Turf Moor this year, and a home defeat to Pompey could be curtains for Hayen.
