Kosznovszky is close to agreeing a deal with Portsmouth

Hungarian midfielder Mark Kosznovszky has been on Portsmouth's radar for a few weeks, but it looks like he's close to agreeing a deal with The Blues.

Kosznovszky's club MTK Budapest have confirmed that negotiations are in their final stages.

It's believed that Pompey will pay around £1.3million for the midfield star, although a significant amount of this fee will be add-ons based on Kosznovszky's performances.

Portsmouth remain hopeful of signing Pelle Mattsson

Earlier in July, it seemed as if Pompey had lost the battle to sign Pelle Mattsson.

The Danish midfielder was believed to be in advanced talks with Norwich City.

However, Norwich appear to be more interested in signing other midfield targets instead of the Dane.

John Swift signs two-year contract at Fratton Park

John Swift was officially unveiled as a Portsmouth player on social media last Tuesday (15 July).

The former West Bromwich Albion has signed a two-year contract at Fratton Park and becomes the club's second signing of the summer.

Swift has racked up hundreds of appearances in the Championship for West Brom and Reading, bringing much-needed experience to the Portsmouth dressing room.

The 30-year-old, who was born in Portsmouth, can play just behind the striker or drop deeper into the centre of midfield.

Danny Ings tipped to thrive at Fratton Park

Portsmouth are in the market for a striker, and they've been urged to try and sign free agent Danny Ings.

Former Pompey midfielder Martin Allen says that Ings would be a fantastic signing for Pompey or any other Championship club.

The 32-year-old is available to sign for free, as his contract at West Ham has expired.

Ings is a former Southampton player. He has also represented Aston Villa, Liverpool, Burnley and Bournemouth.

Middlesbrough are believed to be leading the chase for Ings' signature, but there's still time for Pompey to swoop in.
