Portsmouth 'first in the queue' for Potts as Mousinho shares update
Portsmouth supporters will be desperate to see Freddie Potts return to Fratton Park next season.
Potts made a huge impact on loan from West Ham United with Pompey this season.
The 21-year-old was a regular in Mousinho's midfield and a big part of the reason that Portsmouth will be playing their football in the Championship again next year.
Potts was substituted to a standing ovation as Portsmouth drew 1-1 with Hull City at Fratton Park on the final day of the Championship season on Saturday (3 May), with Mousinho speaking out about the midfielder's future after full-time.
Potts is unlikely to return to Portsmouth
Mousinho will no doubt be keen for Portsmouth to do everything in their power to re-sign Potts on loan from West Ham this summer.
However, the 39-year-old has confessed it is unlikely the youngster will return to Fratton Park next season.

Speaking after the draw with Hull , Mousinho confirmed that he thinks Potts will be pushing for a first-team place at West Ham during the upcoming campaign.
Mousinho said, "It’s most likely we won’t see him [Potts] again next season, unfortunately, so it was a really good moment [the standing ovation for Potts].
"I suspect he’s going to go back and challenge at West Ham, so if we do [see him again], then great, if we do it’s a bonus.
"But that would be my expectation for Fred next year and, if not, then we will certainly be knocking at the door and first in the queue."
Portsmouth need to hold talks with West Ham
While Mousinho feels that Potts will be pushing for a place at the London Stadium, it is still worth Portsmouth asking the question to West Ham.
If Potts were to return to Fratton Park next season, it would be a huge boost for Pompey. Therefore, the South Coast club should ask West Ham exactly what they plan to do with Potts next season.
If Graham Potter doesn't have any plans to include Potts in his first-team, the Englishman might be keen to head out on loan again, and after the season he had with Portsmouth, he would surely be tempted to return to Fratton Park for another year.
This decision would, of course, depend on what other clubs were interested in Potts. However, it can't hurt for Pompey to start by simply asking the question.
