Mark Kosznovszky looks extremely likely to become Portsmouth’s third signing of the summer.

The Hungarian midfielder has impressed in his home country for MTK Budapest.

Last season, Kosznovszky picked up eight goal contributions in 30 matches.

As a result, Portsmouth have been keen to sign Kosznovszky, with the midfielder now in England for a medical.

Now, further details on the transfer have emerged as the Fratton Park faithful wait for the deal to become official.

Kosznovszky to become a Portsmouth player within 48 hours

With pre-season now underway, John Mousinho is no doubt keen to finalise deals as soon as possible.

The start of the Championship is just over two weeks away, with the manager likely to want the bulk of Pompey's business done for the first match.

Thankfully, according to journalist Lorenzo Lepore via X (22 July), the Kosznovszky is set to sign the contract to become a Portsmouth player within the next 48 hours.

The deal to sign the midfielder has cost the South Coast club £870k plus add-ons.

Now, with the 23-year-old already in the UK, the contract to make the move official could be signed on Wednesday or Thursday.

Mousinho needs another four additions this summer

Once the signing of Kosznovszky is confirmed, Portsmouth cannot wait around in the transfer market.

Mousinho needs at least another four players through the door at Fratton Park to ensure the South Coast club don’t go backwards this season.

Depth is a real concern at Pompey, with one or two injuries having the ability to potentially collapse Portsmouth’s upcoming campaign.

Therefore, adding quality on the bench is a must, as the Championship can be a long and gruelling season.

Whether Mousinho does this via permanent transfer or by looking into the loan market, additions must be brought in as soon as possible.

Hopefully, over the next few weeks, Portsmouth will make more exciting moves in the summer window.
