‘Isaac Hayden next’ as Portsmouth confirm brand-new transfer
John Mousinho will be happy with the additions he has made at Portsmouth so far this summer.
With the Championship season around the corner, Pompey may have to wait until a bit later in the transfer window for their next addition.
The Blues are looking to sign a striker, though any addition in that department would likely be another loan from the Premier League.
Mousinho is said to be happy with his defensive options, despite losing Ryley Towler and Rob Atkinson; therefore, he could again look to bolster his midfield.

Portsmouth could reunite with Isaac Hayden
Portsmouth look set to be without their star striker, Bishop, for their Championship opener against Oxford United (9 August).
Mousinho has, however, ruled out signing a new forward anytime soon, as Pompey wait and see whether top-flight sides will let their youngsters leave on loan.
Portsmouth have minimised the damage from Bishop’s injury with the signing of Tottenham winger Yang Min-Hyeok on loan.
The Blues boss is also said to be happy with his defence, but could look for a more defensively-minded midfielder to offer cover at the back.

Isaac Hayden is available as a free agent after his contract with Newcastle expired.
Having spent the second half of the season on loan at Fratton Park, the 30-year-old could return and offer something different for Pompey.
A return to the south coast has been spoken about this summer, but Mousinho looks to be assessing his options before rushing into anything.
Having added Mark Kosznovszky and John Swift to his midfield already, the pair look set to play in more advanced midfield roles than Hayden and Freddie Potts operated during the 2024/25 campaign.

Hayden would offer good depth to Pompey
Given Pack‘s age and injury record, Mousinho could do with someone to cover for the Blues.
Hayden would offer great versatility and depth for Pompey. His experience will also be helpful for the Blues in developing and helping younger players get to grips with the Championship.
