Josh Murphy reacts as team-mate sends message from hospital bed after undergoing surgery
Portsmouth may have been handed a major injury blow as one key player could be out for a significant period.
It has been a very mixed start to the season for Portsmouth, who have lost both of their matches at Fratton Park, but are unbeaten on the road.
John Mousinho's side have won four points in three Championship games, while they are also out of the Carabao Cup.
Last season's assist king Josh Murphy is up and running after creating a goal in Portsmouth's draw to West Brom, and he has now sent a message to an injured team-mate.
Callum Lang reveals hamstring surgery in Portsmouth blow
Callum Lang was one of Portsmouth's best players last season, and is a popular player at Fratton Park, but he may now be out for some time.
Lang picked up a hamstring injury in Portsmouth's defeat to Norwich City earlier this month, but Mousinho claimed that Lang would be out for a maximum of eight weeks, with no indication that there would be any surgery.
However, Lang has now revealed that he has had surgery on his injury, and has posted on Instagram from his hospital bed.
"Surgery done. Let’s get to work! See ya soon," Lang posted.
Murphy was among the players to send him a message of support following the post, with Lang clearly well-liked within the squad, commenting: "Comeback is gonna be crazy," with other teammates, past and present, also leaving messages of support.

How long could Callum Lang be absent for?
While the full extent of the damage to his hamstring is not yet known, the fact that Lang needed surgery indicates that he could be out for several months.
If it is a grade three tear, which typically requires surgery, Lang will be out for eight weeks as an absolute minimum before he can even return to training to build up his fitness again.
A previous hamstring injury kept Lang out for three months, and Portsmouth will hope that he does not suffer the same long recovery time on this new injury.
The midfielder scored 10 goals last season, and his absence is a frustrating blow for Mousinho as he aims to get Portsmouth back to winning form.
