Sean Raggett has given an honest assessment of his time at Portsmouth, picking out his best - and worst - moments at Fratton Park.

Raggett's interview with BBC's Andy Moon [8 May] sees the defender evaluate his five-year journey at Pompey, during which he racked up 239 appearances before learning he will not be offered a new contract following promotion.

Speaking on his highlight at the club, Raggett said: "Probably the Wigan game [at the end of the season]. The reaction I got from the fans during and after the game was so unexpected and it made me emotional. It will stay with me forever.

Moving onto his worst moment, the 31-year-old pointed out the sackings of former managers Kenny Jackett and Danny Cowley.

"They were the two worst ones for me, because as players we're the ones out there trying to perform, and the responsibility lies with us.

"You never want to be responsible for two good guys losing their jobs."

Sean Raggett's journey at Portsmouth

Raggett's status as a cult hero had initially sprouted in the way that footballing cult heroes often do - with inconsistencies and mistakes, but a likeability and a tremendous attitude.

Through Pompey's years of change, the rebuilding process and through multiple different chapters, Raggett had remained a constant and Pompey fans witnessed his desire to improve and fit into the modern game come to fruition - still with that identity as a centre-half that is drying up these days.

The Blues saw everything click into place under Mousinho and whilst it appeared Raggett would be getting phased out over the course of the final year of his deal, the injury to new arrival Tom McIntyre in particular saw him bow out with 38 games for a title-winning side.

Raggett won't be short of suitors this summer. He will expect this to be his last relatively long-term contract and many EFL clubs will be keen on what he can bring to their back line.
