Portsmouth to benefit from key player return v Millwall

Portsmouth look a stronger unit to face Millwall at The Den after what John Mousinho has done ahead of the Championship showdown.

Pompey have made the trip to South London (5 April) in search of only a third away win of the season, having gained the lion's share of their points at Fratton Park.

Mousinho has made two changes to his starting XI to take on Alex Neil's side, who were one of a rare crop to win on the South Coast earlier this season - twice in fact - with revenge on the menu.

Mousinho has announced a pair of changes to his side which includes the return to the starting line-up of Jordan Williams after over two months.

Williams was performing out of his skin in a Pompey shirt until being struck down as one of many injured players in late January against West Brom.

The summer signing was reintroduced as a substitute in last week's win over Blackburn Rovers (29 March), ahead of back-to-back away trips.

Terry Devlin has also come into the side from the off, as Zak Swanson is absent from the squad - something Mousinho is bound to address after the final whistle.

Adil Aouchiche has also been taken out of the team, and has been named on the bench with Connor Ogilvie continuing at centre-half, Cohen Bramall retained at left-back, and Matt Ritchie captaining the Blues in the capital.

Portsmouth could nick win against the odds

Portsmouth have struggled massively on the road this term and Millwall do come as tricky customers, but the Blues will be quietly confident.

Mousinho has instilled a belief in the team that they can beat anyone in the Championship, but a recent "psychological block" on Pompey's travels has been discussed.

Millwall will also be spirited having beaten the Blues at Fratton in both league and cup this campaign, but the travelling Portsmouth fans will be loud and proud in the away end at The Den.

Williams and Devlin returning is undoubtedly a boost given the duo's performances when fit this season, and it's excellent Mousinho is allowing players to express themselves during the height of their momentum - especially the undroppable men like Josh Murphy and Colby Bishop.

After the Millwall clash comes an arguably even more difficult trip, with Coventry City lying in wait in midweek.
