Portsmouth are set to sign Liverpool winger Kaide Gordon on loan for the rest of the season, according to James Pearce.

The Athletic journalist states Gordon, who has played 10 times on loan at Norwich this season, is now set to spend the rest of the campaign at Fratton Park in search of more game time in the Championship.

Gordon, 20, would become the seventh first-team signing of the winter transfer window in a busy period for the Pompey hierarchy, who are looking to find good quality strength in depth for survival.

Portsmouth maintain a healthy business relationship with Premier League leaders Liverpool, having signed Harvey Blair on a permanent deal from Anfield last summer.

Despite Blair having not played regular football since his arrival and being deemed not ready by some, Gordon will add further competition in the same position on the flanks.

Gordon can play both out wide and centrally in attacking midfield, similar to Sunderland loanee Adil Aouchiche, who arrived as the sixth signing of the window on Friday (31 January).

The England Under-20 star came through the ranks at Derby County before joining Liverpool in 2021, scoring his first goal for the club in his second appearance against Shrewsbury Town in the FA Cup.

Outgoings are also expected to take place as the Blues clear out space in the squad for the months ahead in the Championship on 3 February.
