Portsmouth: Myles Peart-Harris called up to international duty but mystery deepens
By Sean Wilson
Myles Peart-Harris has been revealed as the third Portsmouth player to have received an international call-up, leading to the postponement of their League One clash with Barnsley, according to Andrew Moon.
The Blues had been scheduled to host the Tykes on Saturday, 23 March but “exercised their right” to push the fixture back to Tuesday, April 16, with the BBC South journalist reporting that Peart-Harris, Kusini Yengi and Paddy Lane all set to link up with their national teams.
Yengi has been named in Australia’s latest squad, while Lane has been picked for Northern Ireland. It is unclear at this stage which national side Peart-Harris, who has previously featured for England at youth level, is set to join up with, however.
Portsmouth had the right to postpone their match against Barnsley if three players were called up for international duty. Yengi and Lane were before the re-scheduling announcement but the mystery deepens now even though Peart-Harris has been named because he’s not in the England Under-21s or England Under-20s squads.
Myles Peart-Harris proving his precocious talent at Portsmouth
Portsmouth are enjoying the view from the summit of League One and it is a testament to Peart-Harris’ ability that he has instantly been trusted with regular minutes since joining on loan from Premier League side Brentford in January, starting all but two of the Blues’ last 10 league fixtures.
In fact, Portsmouth are unbeaten since the versatile attacking midfielder’s arrival, winning seven and drawing three, with Peart-Harris playing a part in all but one of those games – the 4-1 home victory over Reading.

The 21-year-old previously spent a successful season in the third tier with Forest Green in 2022/23, contributing five goals and four assists in 40 appearances.
His quality has now been recognised with an international call-up – and the Blues’ title tilt may well benefit from the extended period of rest they can now look forward to between their clash against high-flying Peterborough on Tuesday and a trip to Wycombe Wanderers on March 29.
