Portsmouth: John Mousinho provides triple injury update ahead of Easter fixtures
John Mousinho provided a triple injury update on Callum Lang, Connor Ogilvie and Tom Lowery ahead of a busy Easter weekend for Portsmouth.
Forward Lang picked up an ankle injury in the goalless draw with Blackpool (9 March), while defender Ogilvie has had a knee issue since the 2-1 triumph over Oxford United the week prior to that.
Midfielder Lowery sustained a hamstring tear back on 13 February against Cambridge United, as the injuries have racked up for Portsmouth.
Mousinho, in quotes reported by Portsmouth’s official website (28 March), said that none of the trio are likely to feature versus Wycombe Wanderers on Friday (29 March) or the top-of-the-table clash with Derby County (2 April).
“Callum Lang is progressing well, but not quite there yet. We’re looking at possibly the Shrewsbury (6 April) game or, if not, Bolton (13 April) to have him back,” the Pompey boss said.
“We’ve had Connor Ogilvie in and out of training as a precaution and we suspect that he’ll also be back after the Easter matches.
“Tom Lowery is not quite as advanced and we want to be cautious not to overload him, so Bolton is a realistic return date.”
Portsmouth trio not ready for Easter fixtures
While it is a blow, it is perhaps no unexpected that none of the three players mentioned by Mousinho are going to be taking to the field over the typically busy Easter period for Pompey.
With Christian Saydee also unavailable and Terry Devlin, Joe Morrell, Regan Poole and Alex Robertson all out for the rest of the season, Mousinho has done excellently to shuffle his pack this season.

Especially because the last thing Portsmouth need right now is to be managing an injury crisis as they look to get over the line in the race for promotion to the Championship, one in which they are in pole position for.
Pompey are five points clear of second-place Derby, who have also played one game more, while the gap to Bolton in third stands at nine points. A good haul over the Easter weekend will go a long way to achieving the ultimate goal of promotion.
