Portsmouth injury news: Doctor issues Terry Devlin update
Portsmouth midfielder Terry Devlin has possibly suffered significant ligament damage in his shoulder, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert has reacted to his injury back in February which ruled him out for the rest of the season.
The 20-year-old’s return to pre-season is not yet guaranteed as it depends on how he responds to rehabilitation now and once the season ends as well.
Discussing his situation exclusively with Portsmouth News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said: “We know he fell on the shoulder and had surgery which will keep him out for months.
“The shoulder is very complex but based on the timeline, he appears to have had significant damage to either ligaments or other soft tissue like the labrum with instability in the shoulder.
“He will carefully need to be nursed back ahead of pre-season.
“Whether or not he’s back in June or July will depend on how he responds to rehab.“
Devlin’s injury is a blow for Portsmouth
The Northern Irishman may not be a regular starter but has featured in 18 league games this season, making 12 appearances off the bench.
He’s primarily played in central midfield but has also deputised at right-back to fill in during injury crises.

John Mousinho will hope that he goes through his rehab unscathed and is available to him when pre season begins.
