View: Portsmouth ace Marlon Pack rightly acknowledged amid League One accolade news
Marlon Pack has officially been crowned the PFA League One Fans’ Player of the Month for March.
On the basis of his performances last month, the accolade – confirmed by Pompey on their official website [16 April] – is fully deserved.
The award was voted for by the public, with Pack seeing off competition from Exeter City’s Will Aimson, Derby County’s Eiran Cashin, Charlton Athletic’s Alfie May and Lincoln City duo Jack Moylan and Joe Taylor.
Pack played in all five of Portsmouth’s fixtures in March, helping his side to four wins and a draw in a month that all but confirmed automatic promotion.
Marlon Pack impressing for Portsmouth in League One
The 33-year-old particularly caught the eye in the 2-1 win over Burton Albion when leading the way among Pompey players who started the game in terms of pass accuracy (94 per cent) and interceptions (two) [WhoScored].
No player that day completed more dribbles (one), meanwhile, and only Paddy Lane (three) registered more key passes than Pack’s two.
Pack’s impressive form has not just been contained to one month, as reflected by the fact he has been named in the PFA League One Team of the Season.

The former Bristol City and Cardiff City ace has chipped in with eight assists in his 36 League One outings this term – only Abu Kamara (10) can better that – as well as scoring three goals of his own.
As per WhoScored, Pack also leads the way this season in terms of key passes per game (1.6), further highlighting his importance from deep.
Both rewards received by the midfielder this week are therefore deserved, and he can celebrate them in the best way possible against Barnsley on Tuesday (16 April) by confirming automatic promotion.
