Portsmouth chase second loan deal for Tino Anjorin with Bristol City ace Anthony Evans also wanted – report
Portsmouth are pursuing the opportunity to bring Tino Anjorin back to Fratton Park on loan next season, according to The News.
The newspaper reported via their website on 4 May that John Mousinho has “no doubt” about Anjorin, 22, being able to perform in the Championship next season. However, it is understood that due to his five-month injury lay-off, Pompey want to financial protection in case he suffers another setback.
The News reports that a second loan deal for the Poole-born attacker would probably see Portsmouth pay a portion of his Chelsea wages but that would be lowered if he suffers any further injuries.
Anjorin is said to be grateful for the support Pompey offered him during his rehabilitation and would be open to a loan return to Fratton Park to add to the 15 Championship outings he has under his belt from his time at Huddersfield Town.
Jordan Cross adds at the end of his report that versatile Bristol Rovers midfielder Antony Evans is also a target for Mousinho.
Could Anjorin be a Portsmouth hero next season?
The hint of frustration in a memorable season for Pompey was injuries to players like Anjorin.
A freak hamstring tear in a forgettable FA Cup defeat by Chesterfield in November ruled the Chelsea youngster out for an extended period before he eventually returned in April and reminded the Fratton faithful of his ability.
With a significant number of players heading for the exit door after promotion – such as the experienced Sean Raggett and Joe Rafferty – Mousinho will be tentative about the squad being too unrecognisable from that which achieved the glory over the past nine months.

The returns of the likes of Anjorin, Alex Robertson, Myles Peart-Harris Abu and Kamara could prove a coup with the promise the quartet have shown whilst on loan.
Having come through at Chelsea and gained Championship experience – albeit fleeting – at Huddersfield, as well as a spell abroad with Lokomotiv Moscow, the 22-year-old is broadening his footballing career.
With the Championship typically offering more time on the ball as technical quality and more patient defensive units face Pompey next term, the new challenge could suit Anjorin were he to return to the South Coast.
