Portsmouth hire Bradley Wall behind-the-scenes at Fratton Park after Manchester City exit – report
Portsmouth have appointed Manchester City’s Bradley Wall as their new head of recruitment at Fratton Park, according to the Training Ground Guru.
The outlet reported on its website on Friday (10 May) that the former Northern UK Youth Scouting Manager for the Premier League champions has replaced Phil Bordman who ended his six-and-a-half-year stay.
Boardman left Pompey to become a senior European scout covering Germany, Holland and Belgium for Premier League stalwarts Everton back in February before Portsmouth secured promotion.
Wall has held senior scouting roles for Wolves previously and has also been an analyst for both the Football Association and Rangers. Following his switch to Fratton Park he will report to Sporting Director Rich Hughes.
Will Portsmouth be busy in the summer transfer window at Fratton Park?
It isn’t an exaggeration to suggest that this is one of the most important transfer windows in Portsmouth’s recent history as there is plenty of work that needs to be done to prepare this side of the Championship.
John Mousinho’s side has already been linked with a number of players long before the transfer window has even opened and there will almost certainly be plenty of movement both in and out of the club in the coming weeks and months.

To have a head of recruitment with scouting experience at one of the Premier League’s biggest clubs is a massive boost for Pompey. It is very rare that Manchester City mess up when signing a player and fans will hope Wall retains that record following his switch.
The difference in quality between the third and second tiers of the English footballing pyramid cannot be overstated.
There may be plenty of players capable of playing at that level already, but Portsmouth will have to find those few extra additions this summer to help them establish themselves in the Championship.
