Doctor issues injury update on Portsmouth defender Regan Poole
Portsmouth are handling Regan Poole’s ACL injury rehab sensibly with a pre-season return on the cards, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that the club will modify their routine and look to put him through an intense rehab over the summer.
He will then play in the lesser-intensity games and should be close to 100 per cent fitness at the end of pre season.
Discussing his situation exclusively with Portsmouth News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:
“The club are understood to modify their pre-season programme to cater to Poole’s recovery post his rehab.
“The approach is a sensible one – they’re bringing him along slowly and methodically with the plan to reintroduce him into lesser-intensity pre-season matches and see how he responds.
“They will look to put him through an intense summer rehab and he should be close to 100 per cent at the end of pre season.“
Regan Poole has been out of action for Portsmouth since November
Poole picked up his ACL injury back in November and his absence will have been dearly felt in the first team.
Prior to his setback, he was a mainstay in the Pompey defence, playing 14 league matches and even scoring three goals.

It remains to be seen how he fares in the Championship next season as he’s certainly at the level and hopefully can put in more spirited performances.
