Portsmouth Women make Georgie Freeland contract decision ahead of new season
The future of Portsmouth Women ace Georgie Freeland has been decided as the 22-year-old has extended her stay with the club.
This comes after the club posted on their official website on Friday (28 June) that Freeland had extended her stay by a further two seasons.
The midfielder stated that she was “over the moon” about staying on with the club following a solid season last time out.
What awaits Portsmouth Women next season?
Last season was certainly one full of success for Portsmouth Women. The National League South side managed to come away with the title and ended their final game of the season with a 10-1 win.
The team won 20 of their 22 games in the league and are set to take the FA Women’s Championship by storm.
The 2024/25 season will be the first in that club’s history that they will be competing in the second tier of women’s football.
Although their first quest is to ensure survival, with how they performed over the last term, there’s no reason why their form can’t continue.

The achievements by Portsmouth Women are stellar but the fact that Portsmouth’s men’s team also managed to gain promotion to the second tier can’t be frowned upon.
Pompey have already made the addition of Jordan Williams to their ranks following his release from Barnsley, while Connor Ogilvie has also extended his stay with the Southern club.
Things are looking up for both of Portsmouth’s senior sides in what is a successful era for the club, relatively speaking, as a whole.
In other Portsmouth news, Pompey’s fixture list for the 2024/25 season has been released.
