
Portsmouth Women announce pre-season schedule following training return
Portsmouth Women have returned to pre-season training and the club have announced the team’s pre-season schedule on their official website.
Following the transition to full-time operations on the women’s side of the club, 13 players have so far signed professional contracts with Pompey now recruiting up to nine 40-hour staff dedicated to the setup for Jay Sadler’s side.
The club have announced they will take on visits to Cheltenham Town, Crystal Palace, Bournemouth and Bristol City in pre-season, alongside home contests at Westleigh Park against Watford and the Under-21 teams of Chelsea and Arsenal.

Jay Sadler and the team can now focus fully on pre-season preparations following the confirmation of the team’s schedule before the club’s inaugural Women’s Championship campaign.
Portsmouth are newcomers to the league alongside big-spending Newcastle United, as both clubs earned title wins and subsequent promotion from the National League southern and northern sections.
There are some tricky tests among the seven games pencilled in, with an extensive plan in place as the players become used to the rigorous demands of professional football.

The Blues’ Under-23 Women side have also confirmed their pre-season matches, with a selection of matches across the South.
The U23s tapped excellently into the community values of Pompey earlier this summer when it was announced that public trials would be taking place to identify the best untapped talent in the region.
