Portsmouth Women secure latest new full-time contract as McLachlan signs new deal
Portsmouth Women have added another player from their squad to a full-time contract, with Daisy McLachlan signing professionally.
Announced on the club’s official website [26 July], McLachlan is the latest in an increasingly long line.
With another 13 existing squad members having already committed their full-time futures to the club, the tying down of another player is welcome news for boss Jay Sadler.
Pompey are already well underway with their new signings, having bulked out their squad with key Championship experience.
Portsmouth secure more players full-time
McLachlan is the latest of the Portsmouth Women players to commit her foreseeable future to Westleigh Park, having scored two goals in 13 league matches last season.
The forward is into her second spell with the Blues having previously represented the club in 2017.
Pre-season is now underway among Sadler’s squad, who overcame Cheltenham Town 4-0 in their latest friendly encounter.
Pompey will also take on the Under-21 sides of Arsenal and Chelsea as well as the Watford first team at Westleigh during this summer before September’s kick-off of the Championship season.
The club are so far doing all the right things to hold the best chance of a successful campaign, as they look to establish themselves as a second tier women’s outfit.
