View: Portsmouth to take advantage of Southampton Women derby clash with hospitality offer

Portsmouth have launched an affordable hospitality offer for their Women’s Championship derby clash with Southampton at Fratton Park.

The two South Coast rivals’ women’s teams meet in PO4 for the league clash on Sunday 13 October [2pm], the first of what is set to be three derbies between the pair this season.

As announced on the Portsmouth FC official website [6 October], hospitality packages in the Montgomery Lounge have been priced from £17.50 for under-12s and £22.50 for adults – available to book online now.

Portsmouth to benefit from Women’s derby

Portsmouth will reap a small financial benefit with a bumper attendance expected at Fratton for the Southampton clash.

This is set to be the biggest-ever derby between the two yet, and is the first to be played at Championship level.

It will be a humble but welcome opportunity to cash in for the club, who will be over the moon to see their financial faith in the women’s department of Pompey returning on the investment.

Thousands are anticipated to buy tickets and many will now elect for the hospitality packages, which are affordable and reflect the growth and down-to-earth nature of the women’s game and could see over £20,000 made just in ticket revenue.

Although the match will be broadcast live, many who usually attend at Westleigh Park will be built on with plenty more fans getting their dose of derby action which looks not to be coming anytime soon with the men’s team.
