View: Portsmouth fans will be pleased with ticket prices for upcoming away trip to Hull City

Portsmouth fans will be delighted with the ticket prices recently announced by Hull City in preparation for the upcoming Championship clash.

Pompey will make the trip to the MKM Stadium on Saturday 2 November to take on the Tigers, who have listed prices starting at just £3.50 for the Championship clash.

In fact, the most expensive standard adult ticket in the away section is £27.50 – a reasonable demand for second-tier football in 2024.

Portsmouth fans can enjoy cheaper tickets at Hull City

Portsmouth supporters will be thankful to Hull and their chairman Acun Ilicali for their generosity with today’s standard of ticket pricing.

Various clubs down the years at Championship and lower levels have scolded travelling Blues fans, whose away trips clock up more mileage and travel costs than most. In the division this year, Plymouth Argyle, Sunderland and Swansea City are among those who can vouch.

It’s always a refreshing prospect to see fans considered in an era when they are treated as an afterthought far too often, and Pompey themselves passed that check when only marginally increasing season ticket prices following promotion in the summer.

The final sales phase for the Hull fixture before any remaining tickets go on sale is to those with upwards of 35 loyalty points – and a superb away attendance is expected especially after confirmation of the pricing.

Let’s just hope Blues fans do not have to make the trip north in early November still searching for their first win of the season.
