Portsmouth pressure grows ahead of ‘Vital’ Championship fixtures
David Norris has admitted his concern for Portsmouth is building as they look to avoid 10 Championship matches without victory.
Pompey head to Queens Park Rangers on 19 October and face Cardiff City three days later, with the upcoming duo joining them in the relegation zone.
John Mousinho’s side have only lost four of their opening nine but are without a win, and Norris confesses he now hears alarm bells.
“I’ve always said no before now, but the longer it goes on without winning, the harder it gets and the more pressure you feel,” he exclusively told Pompey News.
“That’s going to be the stat thrown out every time until they win – it’s disappointing not to have just got one win to get the monkey off their backs.
“But having said that, they are now in the middle of the group of games after which we said we would see how the season was going to develop – the next couple of weeks are vital.”
Portsmouth must win in Championship
The upcoming games against QPR and Cardiff will be the best opportunity Portsmouth get to take the monkey off their backs as Norris suggests.
Sky Sports host David Prutton has backed Pompey to grab their first victory from West London, with former EFL striker Sam Parkin citing injuries as a primary factor in their struggles.

The Blues have suffered setbacks with the extensions of the absences of Conor Shaughnessy and Jacob Farrell, though Kusini Yengi is in contention to return to fitness on Saturday 19 October.
