View: Portsmouth have to axe 0% dud after shocker v Cardiff City
Portsmouth forward Elias Sorensen was one of several who had a night to forget against Cardiff City on Tuesday (22 October).
The Blues sunk to the foot of the Championship table with a 2-0 loss in South Wales, ahead of Friday night’s (25 October) return to Fratton Park against Sheffield Wednesday.
Sorensen was given the nod up front by John Mousinho but failed to make an impact at either end of the pitch, forcing the head coach to rethink his selection for the Wednesday game.
The Dane has just one goal so far since joining the club, coming on the opening weekend at Leeds United.
Portsmouth have to make changes v Sheffield Wednesday
Portsmouth are in dire straits at the moment, having been teased with last Saturday’s [19 October] win at QPR, only to put in a paltry performance at Cardiff.
Pompey found themselves two down within 13 minutes as Regan Poole turned an inexplicable own goal past Nicolas Schmid, before Sorensen lost Callum Robinson at the far post (pictured) to knock in a quickfire second.

The summer signing was hooked at the half-time interval by Mousinho after a first half in which he touched the ball just seven times, making only 67 per cent of his very low six attempted passes and not executing a single dribble.
Sorensen also won zero per cent of his four attempted duels [Sofascore] as he failed to provide a threat, and lost possession on three occasions.
Having scored regularly in his homeland before being recruited by Rich Hughes at Fratton Park, the 25-year-old is struggling with the step up in standards and he is far from the only one.
Mousinho may be better off opting for Christian Saydee’s physical presence up top later this week, depending on Kusini Yengi’s capability to play a full 90 minutes.
