John Mousinho makes three changes – Portsmouth starting XI v Hull City
John Mousinho has named his starting XI as Portsmouth take on Hull City at the MKM Stadium in the Championship.
Nicolas Schmid has been deemed fit to return in goal in place of Jordan Archer, while Matt Ritchie replaces Christian Saydee after his underwhelming performance against Sheffield Wednesday on 25 October.
Mark O’Mahony also makes way, as Kusini Yengi is chosen to spearhead the attack on 2 November.
Three changes for Portsmouth v Hull City
Portsmouth will be desperate to return to winning ways after just one victory in the Championship so far this season.
Schmid’s return to action is a boost for Mousinho despite Archer not letting himself down in the past two games, while Yengi has been given faith to regain his goalscoring touch against the 15th-placed Hull side.
Ritchie provides nous and experience as he replaces Saydee, with the dropped trio all taking a place on the bench in Yorkshire.
Terry Devlin continues at right-back after impressing in spells in Pompey’s last outing, while Regan Poole again partners Tom McIntyre in the heart of the defence.
Connor Ogilvie, scorer of the Blues’ goal last time out, takes his place again at left-back, while Marlon Pack remains out of the side with Freddie Potts and Andre Dozzell in the middle of the park.
Callum Lang will return from the right to his preferred number 10 role, with Josh Murphy and Ritchie taking their places on the respective wings.
Will Norris is still absent from the matchday squad, while Abdoulaye Kamara and Sammy Silvera are also among the subs.
