Portsmouth set for additional £7,000 income as more tickets on sale for Preston clash
Portsmouth will receive a welcome cash boost as Preston North End visit Fratton Park on Saturday, with 240 additional tickets on sale.
The tickets, advertised at a limited rate through a story on the club website [7 November], are situated in the Milton End – some located in the new seating area constructed over the summer as part of an extensive refurbishment.
With all additional tickets expected to sell, Pompey can make up to £7,000 in these sales alongside regular matchday income such as food and drink and programmes.
Portsmouth regularly making small extra sums after stadium works
Portsmouth are slowly recouping building blocks of the large sum the club invested into the necessary redevelopment of Fratton Park over the summer.
Over £15million has been ploughed into improving the infrastructure around Pompey, with an extra £1.7million project now in place to install a new playing surface and undersoil heating.
These are all long-sighted plans to eventually see the Blues cope in the Premier League, though for now the objective remains Championship survival whereby investment must be seen dedicated towards on-pitch matters.
However, the extra tickets do often spring up when an away crowd has a long way to travel and struggle with their allocation.
They are a double win for Pompey fans who are perhaps now finding it more difficult to be able to watch their team with the increased demand, and who know their purchase will go directly into their club.
