Ian Darke wants to see more of Portsmouth ace Abdoulaye Kamara

Abdoulaye Kamara has looked good when he has played for Portsmouth but rarely gets his chance, according to Ian Darke.

The midfielder was brought in on a permanent deal, with high hopes among the fanbase due to his past with Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain.

Kamara, 20, has been an unused substitute for the past six games as John Mousinho elects for a midfield with more nous of English football.

“The lad Kamara who they’ve brought in from Borussia Dortmund… he’s always on the bench and never seems to come on,” TV commentator Darke exclusively told Pompey News.

“When he has come on, he’s got on the ball and affected the game but he does look a little bit raw.

“I think that’s why Mousinho has been hesitant to use him.”

Will Portsmouth offer Abdoulaye Kamara more game time?

Different rumours have flown around the Fratton faithful as to how much the Blues paid Dortmund for Kamara, with Transfermarkt indicating a fee of around £1.4million.

The young Guinean was a regular as a teenager for the German giants’ second string, having spent time in the PSG academy.

Kamara is joined by captain and fellow central midfielder Marlon Pack on Mousinho’s bench at present, with Freddie Potts and Andre Dozzell preferred as the duo in the middle.
