Luton Town v Portsmouth result predicted by supercomputer
Portsmouth will look to continue their excellent recent Championship run with a positive result at Luton Town this weekend.
John Mousinho’s Portsmouth squad travel to Kenilworth Road this Saturday (1 March) and a win would make it four on the spin in a crucial twist to the survival battle.
Pompey are now nine points clear of the drop zone, and face a side occupying the bottom place of it in Luton, who are without a win in 2025.

Opta predicts Portsmouth outcome v Luton
Portsmouth may be in fine form with Luton struggling to mount a survival challenge, but that has not stopped the Opta supercomputer’s intriguing prediction.
Opta’s algorithm has tilted the result of the match towards the hosts on Saturday, anticipating them to churn out their first victory of the calendar year.
Luton are estimated to have a 40.1 per cent chance of winning the showdown, while Pompey have just a 32.6 per cent chance. This leaves a 26.6 per cent probability of a draw, according to the statistics platform.
Portsmouth will aim to prove the statistical projection wrong and come out on top against Matt Bloomfield’s side.

Mousinho staying coy on team availability
Mousinho has elected to remain secretive about any updates on his players’ fitness for the contest in Bedfordshire on Saturday.
It is thought to be the case that four players who started in the Fratton Park win over QPR for Portsmouth last weekend (22 February) are all doubtful to face Luton: Hayden Matthews, Rob Atkinson, Isaac Hayden and Zak Swanson.
Freddie Potts and Kusini Yengi are also uncertainties, while Regan Poole is likely to have to play the full 90 minutes if several of his defensive teammates are deemed unfit.
Longest-serving Championship managers | Club | Time in charge |
Michael Carrick | Middlesbrough | 2 years, 4 months |
John Mousinho | Portsmouth | 2 years, 1 month |
Daniel Farke | Leeds United | 1 year, 7 months |
Danny Rohl | Sheffield Wednesday | 1 year, 4 months |
Mousinho rejected the chance to offer an update on his players, which is understandable given Luton then remain fully in the dark in their preparations – as do the Portsmouth fans.
If this ends up helping Pompey pull off all three points for the fourth game running, it will be a PR masterstroke.
