Regan Poole message showcases why Portsmouth are set for Championship survival
Regan Poole sent a message to Marlon Pack after the latter struggled for Portsmouth in their latest defeat.
Portsmouth suffered a 2-1 defeat at home to Plymouth in their last encounter, though it doesn’t do an awful lot when it comes to the fight to stay up.
As it stands, Portsmouth are still on course to survive another campaign with a seven-point gap on the bottom three, though performances will need to be much better than the latest at Fratton Park.
Throughout the clash, Pack struggled to impress for Pompey, though Poole wasted no time in sending the skipper a message.

Portsmouth unity showcased by Poole message to Pack
If Portsmouth are to achieve safety, it will have been a remarkable effort from all involved, though none of that will have been possible without that team unity.
Even through some of the most difficult periods of the season, John Mousinho and his side have stood together and emerged stronger as a result of that, with Pack’s performance no different.
After the game, Poole said: “It’s not his natural position, he knows that, but he’s done a tremendous job. We wouldn’t be on the points that we are now without him, so everyone has to keep that in mind” [The News].
Championship | W | D | L | P |
Portsmouth (17th) | 11 | 9 | 17 | 42 |
That reaction is exactly what you need from players when attempting to fight off any relegation fears, and without it, Pompey would have fallen short a long time ago.
While plenty of quality has been on show, the work ethic and togetherness of the team have been the driving force behind their success, with the results like the 1-0 victory against Leeds United a showcase of that.

Mousinho is the gel for Portsmouth
While it is up to the players on the pitch to deliver, the way a manager approaches things can often be just as important, and Mousinho has done excellent at that.
He has backed his players to deliver, and that faith has been shown in plenty of performances throughout the season.
With nine games to go, Mousinho will be eager to see even more of that to ensure that Portsmouth can enjoy as strong a finish to the campaign as possible.
