Portsmouth fans all ask same thing after what Mousinho did v Preston
John Mousinho made changes to his Portsmouth side ahead of their Championship clash with Preston North End, but it was a player that was not included at all that left supporters baffled.
Pompey headed into Saturday’s match at Deepdale following a bizarre spell of matches, losing to both Luton and Plymouth – who are 23rd and 24th in the table – either side of beating leaders Leeds United.
Mousinho’s side followed up a deserved 1-0 victory over the Championship pace-setters with a 2-1 loss to basement boys Argyle, both at Fratton Park, and are now back on the road to face Preston.
With Portsmouth now sat 17th in the table and seven points clear of the bottom three with four sides separating them from the drop zone, Mousinho will be keen to get back to winning ways at Deepdale.
Alexander Milosevic nowhere to be seen for Portsmouth v Preston
Mousinho has rung the changes following Pompey’s loss to Plymouth three days ago, with Kusini Yengi, Cohen Bramall and potential Northern Ireland debutant Terry Devlin all brought into the starting XI.
Yengi makes just his fourth start of an injury-hit campaign at Deepdale ahead of leaving for international duty himself with Australia, giving Mousinho more of a chance to see how the striker is developing.
However, one player absent from the matchday squad altogether is the Blues’ new free agent signing Alexander Milosevic, who is yet to make his Portsmouth debut debut receiving international clearance.
Portsmouth fans react to Milosevic absence – ‘injured already?’
The Pompey faithful have travelled to Preston in numbers in what’s one of their lengthiest away trips of the season, and supporters on social media have also weighed in after Milosevic’s Deepdale snubbing.
One Pompey fan questioned if the Swede was “injured already”, while further discourse followed to question where the “free agent” and “new CB” is given Portsmouth’s wdocumented woes at the back.

Another supporter wondered where the “massive” Milosevic was given he’s now officially able to take to the field in Portsmouth blue, while the listing of the lineup itself – in numerical order – sparked confusion.
The same fan queried “who’s the [centre-back] pairing”, while another assumed that Connor Ogilvie’s presence meant Pompey would be lining up at Deepdale with a rare three at the back.
Thankfully for the Pompey faithful, one supporter stood up to clarify Milosevic’s absence, saying it was “amazing” that people didn’t know Mousinho had stated that the new Portsmouth signing would be more likely to feature against Blackburn after the international break.
