Adil Aouchiche permanent question emerges in £2m Portsmouth transfer verdict

Portsmouth loanee Adil Aouchiche has had a positive impact since signing from Sunderland.

The Frenchman moved to the south coast during the winter transfer window and has featured regularly under John Mousinho.

This has coincided with a positive run of form at Pompey which has seen a gap of four points grow to the relegation zone.

If survival is achieved, the Fratton Park club will be keen to build in the summer and that could start with Aouchiche.

Portsmouth could sign Aouchiche permanently

There is no doubt that there is quality in the Pompey squad which has had a telling impact on achieving a positive finish in the Championship.

After being promoted from League One, making the most of the transfer window has proved to be important with the likes of Josh Murphy coming in.

Aouchiche followed suit in January and has also gone on to have a positive impact after a quiet opening half to the season with Sunderland.

Former Leicester City and Brentford manager Martin Allen believes Mousinho needs to build on his side’s foundations and could look to sign the £2million-rated Aouchiche.

Speaking exclusively to Pompey News, Allen said: “Portsmouth have picked up well and have started climbing so look set to miss out on relegation.

That’s a start. It’s the footing for the growth of Portsmouth, they’ve added quality like Aouchiche and will look to grow bigger and bigger moving forward.

Whether they can afford to bring in a player with a value of over £2m right now, only time will tell.

Portsmouth must build on first Championship season

With the likes of Derby County, Luton Town and Plymouth Argyle below them in the table, Pompey can be confident of securing survival.

This would prove to be an excellent achievement for Mousinho in his debut season in the second tier, especially with the issues his side have faced.

The Englishman has certainly made the most of his squad and has got the best out his squad with experience playing a key role.

Matt Ritchie has done well for the dressing room while less experienced signings like Nicolas Schmid have had an excellent impact.

If Aouchiche can come back on a permanent to link back up with these key names, it could prove to be an ideal start to the summer for Pompey.
