‘Portsmouth have perfect chance to sign Aston Villa starlet’ amid loan development
Portsmouth will have one eye on the summer transfer window as they strive to survive in the Championship this season.
There is just eight games remaining in the second-tier campaign with Pompey sitting just four points above the relegation zone.
John Mousinho will be confident of his side’s ability to avoid the drop regardless of recent defeats against Preston North End and Plymouth Argyle.
With that in mind, the summer transfer window is going to represent a huge moment at Fratton Park and an Aston Villa youngster could prove to be an ideal signing.

Portsmouth could sign Rory Wilson on loan from Aston Villa
Kusini Yengi has frustrated fans at times with his lack of goals in the Championship which can’t be relied on moving into a new campaign.
Colby Bishop already represents a positive option but the addition of a new forward certainly wouldn’t go amiss in PO4.
The perfect option could prove to be 19-year-old Villa striker Wilson who could be available on loan in the upcoming transfer window.
The Scottish youngster has begun contract talks over a new deal at Villa Park and that could end with him departing on loan next campaign.
Villa News reported on 15 March that a temporary switch could be utilised but sources close to the player have suggested it will be down the forward if he leaves.
Given that Mousinho could offer regular first-team football in the Championship, Fratton Park may represent an attractive prospect.

Portsmouth can make statement with Wilson signing
It is fair to say that the youngster is highly rated by the Villans after opting to give him a new contract on his own terms.
There were nine other clubs showing an interest in bringing in the striker, proving just how excellent Wilson could prove to be.
With the likes of Josh Murphy supplying crosses and creating chances for the teen, there is no reason why he can’t succeed on the south coast.
Appearances | Goals | Assists | |
Rory Wilson | 53 | 36 | 5 |
The forward has consistently scored goals in the Villa youth ranks and could find his feet in senior football for the first time under Mousinho.
It will be interesting to see what would happen to Yengi if he were to sign and whether the Scot would welcome the deal.
