Isaac Hayden sent ‘Big’ message after heroics away from Portsmouth

Isaac Hayden has been sent a message by Harvey Blair after what the Portsmouth midfielder did away from Fratton Park.

The 30-year-old joined Pompey from Newcastle United on loan in the winter transfer window and has become a key player for them.

Hayden has been a regular in John Mousinho’s plans but was on the bench in the losses to Plymouth Argyle and Preston.

The Championship relegation battle has become challenging for Pompey after their recent defeats, but fans will hope their team can get back to winning ways after the international break, where several of the Hampshire outfit’s stars shone.

Mousinho delighted as Hayden shines for Jamaica

Pompey have Blackburn Rovers to contend with next Saturday (29 March), and whether Hayden will be relied upon remains to be seen.

Mousinho may look to rest some of his players who’ve been away on international duty for the crunch fixture at Fratton Park.

Terry Devlin is another Pompey star who shone on international duty as he made his debut for Northern Ireland.

Portsmouth will arguably be rearing to get back in action as they look to increase the gap with Derby County, who are in the relegation zone.

The Hampshire outfit are four points ahead of the Rams as things stand and could extend that lead with a win over the Rovers.

Freddie Potts and Andre Dozzell have formed a decent partnership for Pompey in the engine room, and they could potentially keep their place at Fratton Park on Saturday.

Hayden’s inclusion in Mousinho’s starting lineup had led to some encouraging results in recent weeks, though, and the English manager may be tempted to count on him once again.
