Sky Sports host makes shock prediction for Portsmouth v Blackburn
Portsmouth will look to pull themselves clear of the relegation zone with a victory over Blackburn at Fratton Park on Saturday.
John Mousinho’s men suffered back-to-back defeats ahead of the international break at the hands of Plymouth and Preston.
Meanwhile, Blackburn have lost four of their last five Championship encounters and are still yet to win since new boss Valerien Ismael replaced John Eustace.
Last time Pompey locked horns with Blackburn, the Lancashire side ran out as 3-0 winners at Ewood Park back in January.

David Prutton predicts Pompey will beat Blackburn
Three points on Saturday would do Pompey the world of good as they sit just four points clear of the relegation zone.
Opponent | Result |
Luton (A) | 1-0 L |
Leeds (H) | 1-0 W |
Plymouth (H) | 1-2 L |
Preston (A) | 2-1 L |
On the latest episode of Sky Sports’ Essential EFL Championship Predictions podcast, David Prutton predicted Portsmouth will beat Blackburn 2-1: “They seemed to be edging away (from the relegation zone), didn’t they, but those last two defeats have drawn them back in Pompey.
“I’m going to say they’re going to get back to winning ways against a Blackburn side that’s lost their last three, lost four of their last five.
“I’m going to go Pompey to play up and win 2-1.”

Portsmouth should be capable of beating Blackburn
It should not come as a surprise if Prutton’s prediction comes true on Saturday, and Portsmouth manage to beat Blackburn come Saturday.
Largely speaking, Mousinho and Co have been strong at Fratton Park lately and enjoyed three consecutive home wins before losing 2-1 to Plymouth on Wednesday 12 March.
Being defeated by a Plymouth side who had not previously won an away game in the Championship this season, and still sit bottom of the league, was a disastrous result for Pompey.
It seemingly knocked the Hampshire side’s confidence as they then went on to lose 2-1 at Preston despite bagging an equaliser on 83 minutes.
But if Portsmouth can produce a similar performance to that of their 1-0 win over league leaders Leeds earlier this month, then they should be able to get the better of an out-of-form Blackburn outfit.
A victory over Blackburn would do Pompey the world of good before they travel to take on play-off chasers Millwall on Saturday, 5 April.
