Mousinho shares Williams update after what he’s seen at Portsmouth
Portsmouth could be bolstered by the return of Jordan Williams when they face Blackburn Rovers on Saturday.
The former Barnsley defender has been sidelined for the past two months, but he is expected to be available once again for Pompey this weekend.
Williams trained throughout the international break and got himself back to full fitness to the point where John Mousinho is able to consider him for this upcoming fixture.
His return will be a welcome boost to the Portsmouth squad as they prepare for the final eight games of the season.

John Mousinho knows where he will play Jordan Williams
The 25-year-old has dealt with various injuries throughout the campaign, with his hip and hamstring stopping him from being involved as much as he’d have liked after moving to Fratton Park last summer.
Williams has been used in midfield and defence this season, but during his pre-match press conference, Mousinho clarified his long-term plans for him.
The Portsmouth boss said: “He did a job for us in the middle earlier in the season, when we were lacking in options.

“Regan (Poole) was out and then Shaughs (Shaughnessy) picked up his injury and we were down to the bare bones, so Jordan did a good job deputising in a position he wasn’t particularly used to in a back four.
“But he’s definitely a right-back, we’ve seen that and we’ve seen that’s where he is best.”

Portsmouth will aggressively try to retain their Championship status
Portsmouth are currently involved in a relegation fight and will be going to the wire in a bid to retain their status in the second tier of English football.
Mousinho’s men are currently four points clear of the relegation zone heading into their match against Blackburn, with consecutive losses against Plymouth and Preston having left them in trouble.
Mousinho has confirmed that he wants his team to be “aggressive” in the way that they play and their desire to press teams, giving supporters an idea of how the team will be working to try and avoid the drop.
Adding Williams back into the squad will also be a boost for Pompey as his experience and quality will enhance Mousinho’s options.
