Andrew Cullen ‘delighted’ at confirmed Portsmouth transfer news
Portsmouth chief executive Andrew Cullen is “delighted” at some recently confirmed transfer news at Fratton Park.
Pompey are focusing on securing their status in the second tier of English football, but away from the pitch, the hierarchy are working hard to strengthen things for the future.
The summer transfer window is just around the corner at this point, and teams are now starting to get things lined up to secure the futures of their players.
Portsmouth’s future might be uncertain as to what division they will be playing in, but that isn’t stopping John Mousinho from pushing for the owners to extend deals of his current squad.

Portsmouth tie down Regan Poole to new contract
Terry Devlin and Conor Shaughnessy recently signed long-term extensions at Fratton Park, which is a positive situation for everyone involved.
However, Portsmouth didn’t stop with that pair, and they recently extended Poole’s deal as well, despite other clubs being interested in him.
In the matchday programme for the Blackburn Rovers match on Saturday (29 March), Cullen reflected on what that means for Pompey and how he feels about the contract news.

He said, “On a positive note, congratulations to Regan Poole, who just prior to the last home match against Plymouth, joined Terry Devlin and Conor Shaughnessy in signing a new long-term contract.
“He has worked so hard following his injury last season and has quickly adapted to Championship football. We are delighted to secure Regan for an extended period.”

Portsmouth want to keep Mark O’Mahony
Another player who Portsmouth will be looking to have in the squad again next season is Mark O’Mahony, who is on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion.
He has been a key player for Pompey this season, especially considering the fact that they have the smallest wage bill in the Championship.
Mousinho is working miracles with his limited options, but that’s why he wants to retain O’Mahony at Fratton Park, if possible, for next season.
The young striker has proven himself capable of playing at that level if given the opportunity, and Mousinho will be hoping that surviving in the Championship would be enough to lure him back to Fratton Park.
Retaining the 20-year-old would help ease the pressure on Portsmouth in terms of having to buy others, while they would also be able to budget him into the costs far easier.
