Portsmouth ‘at risk of Cohen Bramall transfer howler’
Portsmouth struck gold in the January transfer window when they signed defender Cohen Bramall.
The left-back joined Portsmouth just days before the transfer deadline in January, with Bramall targeted as necessary cover at left-back.
Bramall made his debut the very next day against Burnley, and the former Arsenal youngster has impressed since.
The 28-year-old started and performed well as Pompey kept a clean sheet against Blackburn Rovers, and he has already shown John Mousinho why he deserves a new contract.

Portsmouth should hand Bramall new contract
Bramall has made nine appearances, although just two of them have been from the start, but it is clear that he has a lot to offer the Portsmouth squad in the Championship.
The defender was brought in after Jacob Farrell suffered an injury setback, and has quickly become a vital part of the squad, with few alternatives available to Mousinho.

Bramall’s performance against Blackburn was very promising, with the defender winning four of his eight attempted aerial duels, whilst also making 13 passes into the final third (FotMob).
The Englishman is out of contract at the end of the season, but Portsmouth should now ensure that they can tie him down for at least another year, or they may come to regret it.

Portsmouth could regret Bramall contract mistake
Bramall was brought in from League One side Rotherham United, but he has looked comfortable in the Championship, and other clubs will have noticed.
If Portsmouth allow Bramall to leave at the end of the season, it seems likely that his next club will be another Championship side, and Pompey would regret seeing him thrive elsewhere.
Farrell was brought in last summer, but injury has restricted him to just one appearance. With this in mind, Bramall would be the better option to start the next season whilst the 22-year-old continues his injury recovery.
The former Rotherham defender should therefore be given more chances between now and the end of the season, and kept for another year.
If Bramall stays, and Portsmouth remain in the Championship, he may well start next season as an experienced and reliable option for this level.
