Portsmouth ‘disaster’ claim made live on BBC ahead of Millwall game
Portsmouth picked up a valuable three points on Saturday to aid their hopes of remaining in the Championship.
A 20th-minute goal from Josh Murphy was enough to separate them and Blackburn Rovers at Fratton Park on 30 March in what was a crucial win for Pompey.
John Mousinho’s men put themselves in a great position in the Championship ahead of their trip to Millwall as they put seven points between them and the relegation zone.
Portsmouth are currently 17th in the table after 39 games, and supporters are hoping that the team has now done enough to no longer need to panic about the threat of relegation.

Guy Whittingham shares Portsmouth relegation verdict
The victory was a crucial three points in Portsmouth’s fight for survival, with Mousinho’s men standing up strong with their defensive resilience.
It was a win that injected confidence into the Pompey faithful, and that’s something that club legend Guy Whittingham felt too, as he made it clear live on BBC Radio Solent that they should now be safe, barring a “disaster”.
He said: “Like I said, seven games to go, there’ll be teams down there playing each other and both of them can’t win those games.

“There’s plenty of games to go but the position Pompey are in, I think it would have to be a disaster if they were not to stay up now.
“Also coming off the back of the [Preston] performance for John Mousinho, that’s what he’ll be most pleased about today getting that defensive side of the game right, which they didn’t up at Preston. He’ll be delighted with that.”

Portsmouth will now prepare for Millwall
Pompey have had a tough season due to the sheer number of injury problems they’ve dealt with, but with Jordan Williams back, the squad is slowly coming back together.
That will be beneficial when it comes to the final stretch of games in the Championship as Mousinho aims to guide his team to survival in the second tier of English football.
Portsmouth will now prepare to face Millwall in their next outing on Saturday (5 April), as they attempt to continue to pull away from the relegation zone.
On top of that, a victory against the Londoners would place Portsmouth just three points behind them as they continue to look up the table.
