Eisners told to cough up cash to sign new Portsmouth centre-forward – Exclusive
Portsmouth could look to add a new striker to their ranks in the summer if they avoid relegation from the Championship.
Pompey will be hopeful of maintaining a place in the second tier under John Mousinho after an up-and-down season on the south coast.
Last time out, a defeat against Millwall has left the PO4 side just three points off the bottom three with five games remaining in the campaign.
If survival is achieved, there will be plenty of pressure on Michael Eisner to utilise the transfer market to enhance the squad at Fratton Park.

Eisner urged to sign new striker at Portsmouth
There is no doubt that avoiding relegation in the first year after earning promotion from League One is an achievement.
With that being said, everyone associated with Pompey will be keen to build on this campaign’s successes to improve moving forward.
That could see a new striker signing make sense after the struggles of Colby Bishop and Kusini Yengi in front of goal.
The number nine has scored seven while the Australia international has failed to find the net in a frustrating combination.
Stat (Championship 24/25) | Colby Bishop | Kusini Yengi |
Appearances | 26 | 11 |
Goals | 7 | 0 |
Assists | 3 | 0 |
This is something which former Portmouth midfielder Martin Allen believes needs to be rectified when the summer transfer window opens.
Speaking exclusively to Pompey News, Allen said: “To get promoted and stay up would be exceptional.
“Then, of course, there will be a list of targets to help push Portsmouth up to the playoff places because they can’t stand still, the supporters wouldn’t allow it.
“They’re going to need money to get a centre forward and new centre backs, the spine of the pitch needs to be improved.
“As a recruitment staff behind the scenes at Portsmouth, they’ve got a lot of work to do.“

Portsmouth prioritise new striker signing
Scoring goals always has a telling impact on where a side finishes in the league, especially in a division as crazy as the Championship.
This season, the goals have been spread out, with Callum Lang and Josh Murphy sitting at the top of the pile, despite the former being out since mid-February.
It will be interesting to see if Mousinho can find that number nine to boost his side up to the upper echolons of the second-tier table next season.
