Portsmouth v Derby incident under Hampshire Police investigation
Portsmouth played out an entertaining 2-2 draw with relegation rivals Derby in the Championship on Saturday.
John Mousinho’s men missed a key opportunity to take the lead when Colby Bishop saw his penalty saved by Jacob Zetterstrom.
John Eustace’s men then led through Jerry Yates, before Rob Atkinson re-established level terms for Pompey, before scoring an own goal.
Atkinson then bagged a last-gasp equaliser to salvage a point at Fratton Park on an afternoon when emotions were running high.

Hampshire Police investigate Portsmouth crowd incident
In the 74th minute of Pompey’s relegation battle with Derby, a spectator in Fratton Park’s North Stand threw objects, including a soft drink bottle, at an assistant referee.
As reported by BBC Sport, the incident is now being investigated by Hampshire Police, and Portsmouth could be handed disciplinary charges by the Football Association.
The Blues were previously fined £5,000 by the FA in January for spectator conduct in a League One game with Barnsley last season.

Portsmouth must get back on form amid relegation battle
Pompey were relieved by Atkinson’s stoppage-time equaliser on Saturday, as it meant they avoided defeat against a direct relegation rival.
Opponent | Result |
Blackburn (H) | 1-0 W |
Millwall (A) | 2-1 L |
Coventry (A) | 1-0 L |
Derby (H) | 2-2 D |
However, Mousinho’s side are still just four points clear of the relegation zone, with four games left to play in the Championship.
The Fratton Park club have not won since their 1-0 victory over Blackburn on 29 March, which came thanks to Jacob Murphy’s first-half strike.
Amid their efforts to avoid an immediate return to League One, Pompey will look to get themselves back on form when they face Norwich on Good Friday.
Portsmouth are yet to win away from home since their 2-0 triumph at Oxford on 15 February, so a victory at Carrow Road on 18 April would be very welcome.
Norwich have no relegation worries, nor do they have a realistic chance of making the playoffs, so they should present themselves as ideal opponents for Mousinho and Co to face at a pivotal point in the campaign.
