Portsmouth ‘concerned about Josh Murphy transfer’ after what’s happened
Josh Murphy has been influential for John Mousinho this season as Portsmouth have managed to survive Championship relegation.
The Hampshire outfit pulled off somewhat of a coup last summer when they signed the 30-year-old for free amid interest from other teams.
Southampton, West Brom and Sunderland were interested in the Englishman last summer before his eventual move to Fratton Park [The Sun].
While Pompey will want to keep Murphy for the upcoming campaign, they may have to contend with offers for him following recent developments.

Mousinho clinches Championship survival at Portsmouth
Three points against Watford at Fratton Park were enough for the Hampshire outfit to secure their place in the second division for another season.
Mousinho’s team had a poor start to the campaign, looking favourites to drop straight back down to the Championship.

Pompey made some astute signings in the previous two transfer windows, though, which eventually paid off despite initial concerns.
Now that other teams have seen the talent on show at Fratton Park, the English manager may have to be wary of losing some of his key players next summer.

Murphy on top of Championship assists chart
Murphy’s impact at Fratton Park can’t be praised enough as he’s been one of the most creative players in the Championship this season.
For a team sitting near the relegation zone, it’s impressive that their player has provided the most assists in the league this season, with his 14th coming against Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough on Saturday (26 April).
The 30-year-old’s heroics at the Hampshire outfit will undoubtedly attract attention from top teams in the second division.
With what’s happened in the current campaign at Portsmouth, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Murphy play in the Premier League soon.
The Englishman has shown that he has the qualities to play in the English top flight, and the Hampshire outfit will arguably have a hard time keeping him, as one of the big teams approaches him.
While Pompey showed faith in the 30-year-old last summer, fans wouldn’t blame him for leaving if someone from the Premier League comes knocking.
Mousinho now has the opportunity to build on the current campaign’s success and establish his team in the Championship before aiming for promotion.
